Watching WaveDancer in this clip makes a tiki 30' behave like a vessel much longer. She glides in comparrision to the other wharram featured which seems to hobby horse in the water. Hoby horsing is not unique to just this Tiki 30' from the clips that I have seen online. I was wondering if you think the extra 2' that you have added makes the difference, or was WaveDancer carrying a heavier load?
Is she what can be expected from a Tiki 30' or something truely exceptional?
we sail often side on side with Eric's Tiki 30 and we noticed that WaveDancer indeed has smoother motions. She's 75 cm longer and the hulls are slightly wider underwater (no nuckle). Of course the boat is also heavier, but has about 800 ltr more boyancy. We carry usually 100 ltr fuel and 350 ltr freshwater in cans plus of course all the stuff you need for cruising. About the hobbyhorsing, this depends on the wave hight and lenght, loads and distribution ot the loads on the boats. End of 2011 we plan some longer offshore journeys, then it will proove if WaveDancer can fullfill our expectations. Cheers and all the best - Wave
PS: I hear Eric wants to sell his Tiki 30 with pod. Just to say I have never seen a better built Tiki 30 and I would take her surely for a circumnavigation!
