A Photo & Discussion Forum for Wharram Design Enthusiasts
Hello David
Sorry to don't yet have taken the time to comment your pictures. As I don't want to delay again the launch time of our Tiki46, these last months I have very long days of work and so I reduce at the minimum my web activities.
Congratulations to have the courage to make so many modifications from the original plans and to have rigged her with a parallel junk rig . She seems very comfortable at anchorage as at sea and the possibility to put down easily the mast to explore the rivers is very good. On my hand I thought to do so tabernacles but I gave up because I was not sure to be able to make strong tabernacles to hand the 55m² of each sail.
As we have to sail in UK after the launch of GRAND PHA, I will be very happy to meet you, visit your boat and share our experiments if you are always in Plymouth next September.
Regards Bertrand
Bonjour Bertrand,
Je comprends bien comment il n'y a jamais assez temps, juste avant la mise a l'eau de EAU DE VIE j'avais meme pas le temps de respirer! The tabernacles were more expensive to make than the masts, and we have 43m2,so I should think we were pretty much on the limit for tabernacles.
We are here now in Plymouth seeing our friend Peter Hill launch his parallel junk rig, ORYX, it's a work of art as always with Peter, and he is hoping to see you himself before sailing away into the sunset.
thanks charlie, how are you doing
