By the way - do you build in Vinylester/Polyester or in Epoxy Resin? What are the advantages and disavantages?

Thanks Markus, We build the hulls with vinylester resin for the outer skin and polyester resin for the inner skin and decks. The advantage of the poly vinyl is that they are much less expensive than epoxy and they have an open window of time that permits them to be laminated to without requiring sanding. You can also build a boat with a gelcoat exterior. I have decided that I don't relly like a gelcoat finish as I like to do all of my secondary bonding with epoxy. The boats that I build are all at the minimum semi- custom and there are details and modifications  that are worked out along the way and these require the use of epoxy. You can use gelcoat over epoxy but it is a bit problematic. I am finding it easier to use a high quality paint system instead of gelcoat. When we are building with plywood we of course use only epoxy.
