Welcome Ben. I came across your canoe blog some time ago. Lovely stuff. I do a lot of kayak trips. We seem to have a lot of wind here and the kayak handles this better. Kayaking / canoeing is the best education in watersport there is. You really learn what the wind / waves / currents do to your craft when you have nothing more than your muscle-power to react with !!  You will get lots of satisfaction and pleasure from your HITIA. I will be checking the blog.

Well I did warn that I would be checking on you !! The big thing is you are in the water. This will give you the boost to finish it off. I have used tarp sails myself they can be surprising!
