A few weeks ago, I went sailing on a tiki 38 and realized that the mast was kind of wobbly, I asked the owner and he said it was supposed to be like that, but did not know why. 

Is the Wharram wing sail Design a semi free standing mast? 

After thinking about it, I asked myself if it is possible to use an aluminum mast on a Wharram wing sail Design, as the constant movement would not be good for the aluminum. What are your thoughts bout it?
