Hey Georges,

My thinking on having 2 systems is that if a fault occurs, keeping them separate will isolate the problem, while the other continues to provide power. Using two different power sources (wind and solar) also broadens the opportunity for keeping the batteries charged under different conditions (dark & windy vs. calm & sunny).

All ply (Hoop) cut for beams, webs joined and picked up some nice 6X1 clear Hoop pine on weds.
Having to move home this weekend so will machine all the timber and start assembly this coming week.
Stay tuned!

The 2 main beams are about half way built.
Will be adding the webs this weekend.
Photos to come as soon as my phone syncs.

Just ordered the study plans for the Tiki 26. I am very excited to get started on this project. The First Mate (wife) wants a bathroom installed upstairs first (maybe I am the First Mate?) so this project will not really get underway until that is done - but I am excited none the less.

good day people today i have filleted the keel into the hull.thankfully the rain has stopped and everything has dried up a bit after the horrendous flooding we have had here in queensland.
Comment by paul anderson on March 1, 2011 at 1:25pm
well today i will be glassing the first hull, man i am gonna have to organise myself pretty good as i have a bit of a worry about getting it right.
Comment by paul anderson on March 2, 2011 at 8:07pm
well i have got the glass on o.k on the one side of the hull,i must admit it went better than i thought, although the overlap around the keel is pretty suspect.i had to work real fast as it gets real hot here early.
