Dear Wharram builders and sailors...

I have purchased my study plans for the Tiki 38.. I was curious about the wingsail rig... Is it possible to sail single handed with that rig without too much difficulty?

Thanks!!!

Yeah, if you have auto pilot or wind pilot, it's easy. But remember, alone you need to anticipated the maneuvers, Do not let last minute.

I find it really easy. Bigger boat gives you plenty of time to act ie slower motion. I use a wind vane for self steering. I have all my halyards quickly and easily accesable to drop sails quickly if needed. Plan ahead so that when you release the halyard there are no pig tails in the halyard to stall the drop. This was a concern of mine before taking on the T38 but its actually not an issue for me. I mostly sail singlehanded and its fun. Brett

forgot to say that reefing is really quick and easy once you're set up right and got your method organised.
