thanks for your quick reply.I checked again and Glen Tieman as it seems is making canoehulls with them. maybe one should first insert the hardware and then epoxy over it. I don't know but Imust admit that to me using something outdoors that's supposed to stay indoors doesn't sound very reliable.but on the other hand if it's going to be packed in epoxy it's not really out is it? any suggestions for other waste materials?<br />

Getting the plans and getting started is just so exciting! Congratulations. Nev and I built a hard bimiini top for our boat out of door skins and fiberglassed both sides. But where the fasteners went through, the water got in and the door skins are not meant for outside use. They are meant for doors, after all. So the bimini top had to be replaced using proper ply made for outdoor use. It is weathering well.<br />
