I’m currently building a tiki 30 in the Tampa Bay Area.   I have gotten plywood from “World Panel products” on the east coast.   They are a bit expensive but have good inventory.   I have also used “Chesapeake Bay Light Craft”, CLC.   I found them to be very reasonably priced and personable, shipping was little higher coming to Florida though.

i have had good success with Raka epoxy.   I have also used West System available at West Marine and the Fiberglass Coating brand available from St. Petersburg Area.

are there any other tiki 30 builder out there....I have questions.

Hey Jeff,

How far along are you into your build? My girlfriend loves my Tiki 21, but we are thinking about building a 30 down the road and would love to see one in person. We will be down there in St. Pete for New Years.

Hey Brad,

as I write this I have a few of the small parts complete.   I have nothing that looks like a boat yet.   I do have a set of tiki 30 plans that I would be happy to let you review.

‘’I also have my tiki 26 ready to go at a moments notice.   She is 15 years old and in better than new shape.  I was weened on a Hobie 16 and sail her just as aggressively lol…yes, Wharram’s can fly a hull!!!!

we live in the Dunedin area and would be happy to talk boats with you any time.  Let us know when you are in the area.

Hey Jeff,

I'm down in St Pete for the next month or so, and I would love to check out your 26/go for a sail if you are still interested.

Hey Brad…your timing is excellent.   I am just finishing up some maintenance work on the 26 this week.   She will be looking good and ready to sail with the next warm weather.  We will sail 0n almost any nice afternoon.

Hey Brad…I never did hear back from you after the Everglades challenge.   I’m hoping you made survived.   That is a pretty grueling event and doing it on a paddle board as well….I’m guessing you have stories!!!!
i am just finishing up the mast for the tiki 30.   I have had several delays this summer so far so I have not yet started the hulls. I was expecting to one nearing completion at this point.   Lol now I hoping to have one hull mostly assembled by the end of the year…maybe.

Hi Jeff, I'm exploring the idea of building/buying a wharram. I'm based on St Pete and would love to hear from your experiences on both having and building a wharram cat.

Right now I'm exploring the idea of building an Hitia 17 as a learning project, although I would like to buy or build in the future a bigger cat more suitable short ocean sailing.

Hello manjuari

I love the wharrams.   I’ve been sailing for 50 years and my tiki 26 that I sail now is one of my favorite boats.   We are up in Dunedin and sail on the sound or Gulf 3-4 afternoons a week weather and work permitting.

if you don’t have much experience in this style of boat building then I would encourage you to take on a smaller projector to learn.  Mistakes on a big project are MUCH more costly.

my tiki 26 will be for sale in the next year or so.   She is in like new shape, new motor new sails sometime this year, new paint, new hatches and on and on.   She is a great boat and fully capable of some extended sailing.   Our longest trip is one week.

‘’my tiki 30 is coming long slowly.   I have the first hull almost assembled.   I have the beams, mast and misc small parts complete.   If you would like to take a look just let me know.   I am building in the safety harbor area.

Hey Alberto….how is the 38 coming???

im two years into building my 30.   I’m only averaging about 10 hours a week.   The…first hull…is finally coming together.  A lot of the small parts are built including the beams, mast and hatches.   I figure I’ve got 2 more years to go though.  Luckily I’m enjoying the build process.
