One of my tillers broke as a friend of my son used it to lever himslef out of the water...

just thinking about alternatives  than bent wood- that might be easier to make and less to maintain.

eg has anyone used aluminium tubing?

or clamped tiller to side of rudder

or used a more conventianal tiller/rudder fitting ie s/s fitting that tiller locates in with locking pin.

Thank you!

Actually they are not that hard to make out of wood. You could use good clear decking timber and glue up. If you decided you didn't want to paint them you could just graphite and epoxy a thin v around the glue line to protect from uv or use resorsinol glue or you could epoxy up and paint. Fun little project
