Nice. Bamboo is such a versatile product. My son uses bamboo extensively in his structures at his eco-lodge. The bamboo is an introduced species in West Africa, but the introduction did not include the building methods used in places where it originated. He has had to research online the lashings and other means of joining like bamboo "nails". He has build some very attractive structures and uses exposed bamboo rafters in his own house. I love it.

What's the best way to seal bamboo to make it last longer?

Mate Heat it over a fire, make sure you drill a hole in each segment. You can use a plumbers blowtorch as well.Wipe away the residue. I then epoxied the bamboo and varnished it.Looks great and lasts.
