Hi Michael, sorry to take so long, I gave up my t 26 and so don't visit here much.
For the shrouds, I used 6mm or 1/4" dyneema. For the forestay, I used 9-13mm dux (heat-treated dyneema), because it does not stretch: this keeps the standing rigging snugged up. When I used plain dyneema for the forestay, the rigging would get sloppy, and have to be re-tensioned frequently.
You could attach to chainplates...I used chainplates to aluminum deadeyes to the shrouds. I can hunt up pictures, they are not on this new machine!
