 more maintance friendly .

Hi Andy, if you're referring to the bare aluminimium then yes the getting rid if the paint and fillers is going to reduce the ongoing maintenance, has been a year and already starting to go a dull grey, hoping that in a few more years will go the same colour as the teak. Found with the paint that where it was blistering it was leaving small pock marks so much better to let the aluminium breathe.
Also as much as I prefer to visually leave wood natural or at least varnished the amount of ongoing maintenance was a hassle. Tiare is very much an easy, relaxed, safe and enjoyable cruising sail boat.
The blue paint I will paint white but leave a bit as a pin stripe, was a mistake to paint blue, looked good in my minds eye:)
Still cruising but have "settled" in Yuge Island, Ehime Prefecture, Japan for a few years until our youngest finishes high school, after that the Pacific calls.
