Hello,Jeroen I bought Kathleen in 2002 .She has had line lashings the entire time.I use 8 plait 4mm. polyester, with 6 wraps per lashing,so thats about 100ft per beam.the line will last for years. I recently replaced the aft beam lashings at 5 years which I think is too long .Bunt the line actualy looked sound. The problem I have had is that the lashings the crush resin and wood allowing moisture in . A hardwood inset on top of the beam or atleast some extra glass cloth are both good solutions . I do like the lashings they are easy to inspect and maintain, reasonably priced and most of all very secure when properly rigged. Fair winds Chris
