My tiki 26 is without a set of sails, This rig has become available at a good price. Can any body give me some advise. What are the draw backs of just using the entire Theta 26 Rig mast and boom. Can I use the 2 stays on the Tiki and run 1 to the top and the other to where the spreaders connect to the mast. Or could I step the mast so that if rotates. Long term I would prefer a boom and full battened main. I must still get all the measurements of this rig but it should be roughly the same. I could get the genoa cut back a bit.

Will the mast snap???

Mate i am sure it could be done. Have a look at boatsmiths page.

That's what I was thinking. Boat smith has done a skinny mast and taller rig. Granted those boats are for day sailing.  I would just rather lift a hull than snap the mast.

The Genoa looks huge though that will need to be cut down.

I was just hoping that somebody out there had done a DIY version and could tell me how best to stay the mast.
