To be honest you have a long expensive road ahead of you. The rule of thumb for building a boat is it will cost you about $1,000 per foot therefore the Pahi 63 will cost in the region of $60,000 in materials alone or so it was back in 2006 when I started mine. Now with China becoming a world player the whole eastren economy has flourished and costs all over Asia has increased. Your best bet is to get an assistant in each country you're interested in building in, give them the materials list and let them enquire for you, as a western guy making the enquiries you will get charged alot more.

4000hrs is very optimistic. My project has been on and off for the past 5 years. As I was still studying and I'm still working in Europe I am getting mine built for me by a local yard which have about 8 guys working on it from time to time, I just travel there now and again. I'll be there again in January to the final Survey hopefully.

In the Philippines I imported SP106 from Gurit's Agents in Austrailia, which worked out far superior as it comes with a CE mark yet it is cheaper than local resins. The ply used on my Pahi are  Santa Clara Marine and BS1088. There's good Mahogany there but I think most ot the ply comes from Indonesia.

SP-Gurit cheaper than local stuff, I am positively surprised. Epoxy is my week point, i am not a professional boat builder and my knowledge about epoxy is just basic but i am researching and learning. The i’net is just full of brand names and its a bit confusing for a novice like me but i was reading about gurit and visitet there headoffice in switzerland to get some info

Tomorrow i fly to clark- angeles and from there to some beaches to have a break from kota kinabalu. I saw a pahi 52 and the islander 55 but never a pahi 63 in real. Is there a chance to go and see your boat at the yard to have a better idée how she looks in real?
