I have not been able to access the blog on our regular site
blog, so am moving the blog here. Many of the next few blogs happened over the last 4-6 weeks so are not what I am currently working on. I just need to get the information up.
I started cutting out the parts for the upper hull bulkheads on the CNC. It took a little longer to draw the bulkheads and parts into the computer than I thought, but this is what it looks like when it comes out of the CNC. These are the upper bulkheads for 4, 5, and 7. The machine cuts everything perfectly (if I draw it correctly as you will see in a later post) and stays attached to the ply by small 30 mm long tabs that are easily cut to remove the part. The reason it is done this way is so that when you receive a kit, the parts mate up to the plywood layout on the plans and you are not dealing with a bunch of loose parts. You simply find the right sheet, cut the tabs to the part and you are ready to epoxy and glue in place.
