Cartoon, Friends in Bluff

Almost by accident we created a support network of friends, as we cruised gently round the world, stopping for periods of up to 6 months at a time. The cartoon is by Lawrence Moorcroft who was key animator on the Beatles ‘Yellow Submarine’, ‘Tintin’, and ‘Asterix’ films. Lawrence & Alison took us under their wing during a long pit-stop at Bluff Yacht Club, in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Friendly and competent, they helped us repair a rudder, source a new mainsail & jib for Taraipo, stitch his & hers ethnic pants, and party twice a week at the club braai, followed by a joyous farewell.
