Hi,
We are now in Lake Worth enjoying lots of warm weather and hearing reports of snow up in Rhode Island from the family. Makes it seem even nicer down here! Will you be at the Wharram meet here on the weekend?
Love, Ann and Nev

Hi Folks,
For structural comments, I would refer you to Wharrams themselves. But for my own comments, and remembering that I am not a boat designer, I think there are no problems with what you plan to do. Gunter can also give you some ideas on the changes you propose. I do know that Wharrams approve of an opening so one can walk under the bulkhead at station 7 which is what you plan for the galley. I also know that a lot of folks like to make the pod 6 inches higher and a bit wider too. We have never felt this was necessary and have never hit our heads on the pod roof even in strong weater, but some folks like a bit more room over their heads. My own opinion is that it will not make much of a change structurally, but I am sure Wharrams will comment if you ask them. I do agree with James that making the pod with standing head room woud make a major structural differenct and it might cause a prombem in rough seas.

Hi Wes,
Unfortunately I did not see your letter until today so I did not know that you would be at Mystic. We were there and would have seen you if we had known. Give us an update on what's happening with you. Nev and I really love the new engines (both 20 horse power) and the new solar panels (4 of them each with 80 watts) so the work list is cleared enough so we can now go cruising for a while in local waters. Wes,
We will be hosting a gathering of Wharram builders and owners on Aug 21 starting at 10am and we hope it will be good enough weather to take a little sail. We are located on our mooring near the E Greenwich Rhode Island town dock. Bring any food you wish to share with the others and we will be delighted to see you again. Ann and Nev 401 261 7816
