"Rune is giving you good advice. The Tiki 21 is built using the "stitch and glue" method. The method was designed in order to make use of epoxy and its additives during boat construction. The epoxy provides the strength - it is stronger…"

"You could use screws, but the bulkheads are of relatively thin plywood, so it is difficult. And I would remove the screws when the bulkheads are glued in anyway. I used cable ties instead of wire. Also perhaps not as many as in the plans. You just…"

"I am not completely sure what you mean.  Are you referring to holes drilled in the hull panels used to tie the hull panels and the bulkheads together? If so, yes this is probably necessary. The holes will afterwards be cowered with the fillets,…"

Oh WOW! Sanderling looks so great -- exactly the inspiration I've been searching far and wide for, as home-built aluminum multihulls don't seem to exist much out there...

And thanks for those great links and resources. I started making a spreadsheet of my own -- great organizational idea, and very helpful to see the kinds of Wharrams being built and sailed here in the Pacific NW.

We are going to be coming down to Seattle in March -- I'll plan to make a meeting with you then!

Stop by when you come down.  Scott and I may have Tsunamichaser all back together by then so we can go for a sail!

Hi Scott,

I'm thinking of taking a bus ride down to Seattle March 3 with my bicycle, or alternately March 10. I can see on the google maps link that your Tiki 21 is in Union Bay, is that still the case? If so, I'd love to stop by.

I can even see your friend Thomas' Tsunamichaser on Street View, close to downtown as well. Maybe I'd have time to see both.

email me back at justobella@hotmail.com, if you like.

Thanks!
