Congratulations for the job repairing the tiller. You will need to protect the epoxy from the sun because if not the epoxy wil be deteriorated.

Hello Matthew. I just came back in Brest from a transatlantic crossing on the monohull of a friend Ténérife to Pointe à Pitre in Guadeloupe. 2800 miles in 19 days. I am working hard on the Tiki: getting a new intelligent charger to plug in from either the marina electric line or the thermic Honda group, getting the seasafe raft controlled, the engines being wintered. 

I also know I want a windvane. There is a plate on the rear beam that just looks like it already has had a vane, perhaps a pacific windvane? Do you know anything about this?

Hi Matthew. I have lost all my contacts in my old iPad. I am spending for you and otherwise Wharram friends some news of Tigaki. She arrived yesterday with me and a friend from Funchal in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, were She Will Stan for à whole month waiting for the trade winds to go down to Cabo Vede. We actually started from Lorient at the end of August and we crossed with difficulty the Bay of Biscay, a strong SW wind closing the door after a 100 miles. It took us 4 days and 4 nights to arrive in Santander. Then we went to Gijon and I sailed alone to Ribadeo, Vivero and Cedeira. In La Coruna I was joined by Alexis who is still with me here in Canary Islands. The boat is fantastic but this you know already. She is awaiting for an asymetric spinaker, a replacement Simrad TP 32 in case the other gets into trouble. I still am in the process of fine tuning the Pacific windpilot windvane. Going down from Leixoes to Cascais we faced strong southerly winds that stopped us 7 days. And from Cascais to Madeira we experienced dirty pyramidal waves that surfed inside the aft beam and trampoline. And going aft of the boat to install the pilot in this sea and wind was simply out of question. I am thinking of installing the pilot on the piece between the tillers at the rear of the cockpit, easier to plug it and unplug it and safer too. I do not carry a caméra but I do watercolors of the trip. If I find a say to scan them I shall shoot them. Would you like to sail down from Canary to Cabo Verde: 700 miles, 7 days with plenty of nothing to do. Take care Jean-Michel
