"Hi James, this is how i did mine and 4 years later have not yet had to re-tighten them. From bow to stern i have 5-10cm up and down movement and i have been in F8 weather on numerous times. I used a fulcrum type pole system to pulle the lashings…"

"Yes, there are reinforcements on the interior. The lashing strake should line up with an interior stringer, and the block will have a companion 9mm interior ply reinforcement."

"Curious about what is on the interior in the way of reinforcement. Are the ply bracing and timber merely bolted to the hull skins? Or is there extra thicknesses of ply inside? I have seen several Pahis and Tikis from the outside, never had the…"

"Yes, it looks right. The reason shape of the upper block is so that when you tighten the lashings (by making horizontal wraps around the vertical lashings), they will not make contact with the block."

Lashings for my Pahi 31

Hi everybody!I am considering how I will rebuild the lashing system for my Pahi 31.From what I have been able to understand from looking at some pics on the web, my basic idea for the lashing system is: a length of timber the appropriate width running the length of the gunwale. This length of timber will be mounted on smaller pieces of the same timber which will sit under each beam. Above each of these smaller pieces of timber will be pieces of plywood bracing of a similar/same thickness as the…See More
