What boat (s) are you building or do you own?

At present I own a 14 ft dinghy, two kayaks, a surfski and a waveski. I built the dinghy and one of the kayaks myself.

About me or us?

I started sailing/racing dinghies when I was a teenager, mostly on inland dams. I have'nt done any serious sailing or racing for 20 years, just an occasional excursion on Poverty Bay or Lake Waikaremoana with my son or on my own (my wife, Coral, being a bit nervous sailing on the dinghy)

Looking to?

I have recently retired and my wife and I would like to do more activities together. We both feel that it is likely she will be less nervous on a cat than on a dinghy and as we already like camping holidays we are considering acquiring a cruising cat. This we would use for short camping trips in lakes and estuaries (and possibly the occasional short coastal hop when we get more experienced).
