"I fixed exactly the same thing on my pahi 31! the insides of the curve up bits were not glassed, and moisture got in. also, the caps where screwed on, without glue, and that didn't help either I think. I put a lot more glass over everything…"

"wow, this is different to the pahi 31 that I know. it only has 3 cross beams, and a single large cockpit instead of 2 separate cockpits. the interior must be very different also."

"I also notice there is a box on top of the cabins to give an area of full head room. personally, I think it's ugly. I prefer the spartan open deck original wharram vibe."

"According to the design book, the prototype pahi was 23 foot, built in 72, then later they built a 35 foot one in glass over foam, with 5 side windows like this one. in 1978. I noticed on the photo that the name is Areoi. That's the name of the…"

"Oh yeah, Keanu, have you seen the cream coloured raka in little shoal bay? it's nearly the same proportions as a tangaroa 4. same length, slightly narrower hulls. it needs some work, for sure. you can walk out to it at low tide. It's in a…"

"I used to use brushes like that too, I would reuse a couple of nitrile gloves to go over the brush handle and container to form a quasi- airtight seal. When I went off acetone I couldn't do that anymore, but subsequently wondered whether or not…"

About me or us?
I'd always admired wharrams, but have owned mainly monohulls (because of the very affordable 2nd hand market) and built a few beach launched sailing outriggers. But then I found a pahi 31 with leaves growing around it on the side of the road... which I am now restoring.
