I'm not a jet-ski (PWC) fan. BUT, that motor intrigues me. Has anyone modified a jet-ski motor and fitted it to propel a yacht? I'm more interested in it's maneuverability than speed. Would it be…Continue

A number of years ago I newly anti-fouled my Tangaroa with a Jotun antifoul in Thailand. It was brilliant. After almost 2 years, there was a slight slimy sheen just at the waterline, but the rest…Continue

"Hi guys. Been a while since I sold the boat, but have retained fond memories. I bought the boat with the deck tent, and would say it was built to plan. I'm sure you are correct, Scott, that the design could be improved upon and more modern and…"

Carl replied to Ian Bamsey's discussion Tiki 21 rear trampoline
"HI Jay, Yes I saw that, and I have felt the temptation to buy her back! I don't have plans for the trailer, but it is very similar to the design in the Tiki 21 plans, except that it has the "outriggers" which fold out.…"

Carl replied to Ian Bamsey's discussion Tiki 21 rear trampoline
"Ian,   Regarding the bridle, my Tiki 21 (no longer in my ownership) had 2 cleats inboard fixed to the front beam blocks. I had a bridle permanently on that which I used when tying up on my mooring. Never had an issue with it. I've…"

"Brandon, I'm adding a few pics showing the interior. The layout was modified from the original Tangaroa design, but by comparison, made a lot of good sense. Starting aft on the port hull: Heads (with shower- sit down), helm (under tent- also…"

Tiki 21

"Hey Carl, Is that a removable plate in front of your engine? I guess it allows the engine forward.  If so, does it work out well, and would you make any changes?"

Thanks for befriending me Carl. I've talked to Don Brazier and will email you his email address and phone number (not in directory) tonight. I learnt that James has had an op for his bowel cancer and is nearing the end of 3 months chemo treatment. Sending healing thoughts to him. Off to Avatar......

Hi, I've been wondering how the Kawau Is hui went as I can't see anything about it on this site. Please refer/link me to any report or let me know.
Has your tiki sold yet? Sometimes I think of selling my hinemoa as I don't use her much. However, I'm really attached to her (and the work??!!??) and two of my sons also would not like to see her go away.
I did have 12 gorgeous days on board at Tuhua Dec - Jan. Dolphins on sail out and on my return sail; first there were half a dozen playing at the hulls and on the way home about 50 swam towards me moving fast, surrounded me but did not stop on their mission north. I trust all's well with you and yours.
