Have you any tips on how to neatly attach the intermediate stringer?  The one I weighted down with a variety of barbell plates etc. it bonded Ok but oozed out the edges too much.  With my junk obstructing any possibility of dealing with the ooze.

John,

I screwed that stringer on, temporarily. Here's what I did anyway :

  •  Position the stringer on the inside of the laid out, flat side ( hull side on saw horses ).
  •  Mark its position, remove it and drill through the side. Maybe 8 to 10 inch centers.
  •  Temporarily fasten the stringer from below, then remove it.
  • Apply glue to both surfaces and screw the stringer on, again from the underside.

Many steps, but predictable and easy to clean with a popsicle stick to leave a small fillet at the joint.
