This bimini measures 8 ft x 8 ft. It is shaped so that it can catch rain water. Two solar panels of 6 x 5 ft deliver 288 Watt @ 12 V (19 V in sunlight, 15 V overcast). Everything self built. And friends still ask: "When will the boat be finished?"

To catch rain water you say !!!! do you remove the solar panel when you do that or is the panel sealed.

The total thickness of the solar panel is only 5 mm, 2 mm of polycarbonate included. It is completely sealed with marine silicon. The bimini is sloping forward and the rainwater falls onto the deck salon, from where it is guided into rain catchers with connection to the tanks. The relevant photo will follow shortly.
