Hi,
We are looking at your boat launch and wonder what is the pink stuff? What material is that? Do you have rollers under there? Would it work on a sandy beach? Would it work on a Tiki 46? We have a willing land owner and hope someday to be able to haul above high water for a week or so for bottom painting in a remote island.

Hi,
they are made out of wood, as you can see one sits on either side of each hull. I don't know that it would work on a sandy beach as I think they would just dig into the sand, this was done on a concrete slipway with planks laid across and a bucket full of grease! If you go to the restoring wharrams group on this forum you will find some people there who have succesfully beached cats, I think it helps if you have tides, we don't.

Hi Sarah,
Thanks very much for that info. We are currently lined up waiting for a crain haul out up here in Maine at Walter Greene's yard. It will be expensive, but at least Walter and Joan are friends and the suffering of people living on a boat in a yard is minimal here because all the folks are so wonderful. Some call it multihull heaven. Eventually I hope they will develop a cheaper method of hauling big cats here. There are 9+ feet of tide here but we need to be completely out of the water for several days this time and remove the masts too, so the crain is needed. At least we can share the cost of the crain!
All the best, Ann and Nev
