Nice boat!

I'm planning to build a Tehini over the next few years. I'd be interested in any interior photos you have, as well as descriptions of modifications you have made.

Do you have coachroofs or is the entire hull a flat deck? How is the headroom inside?

Thanks!

Hi Joe,
I will try to answer your questions but I have to start with telling you that I bought her when she was built to 80-90 %. It is just the last details that I am working with. But she is a big big girl so even the last 20 % it’s a lot of work. I will go to Ogopogo tomorrow and make sure that everything is ok, we have hade a strong winter with almoust half a meter of snow. Hence, I can take pictures of the interior tomorrow.

She has 4 cabins with VC. It’s double bunks. And you also have 4 single cabins. In between the hulls you have like a big box hanging. In that box you have the navigation table, the cooker and a sofa with a table for 8-10 pepole.

I don’t know the English world for the type of deck we are taking about here. It is not totally flat it’s a few centimeters higher at the highest point and then dropping at the hulls. Slightly U-formed deck but the other way around so to say. I think that the headroom is exactly 2 meters and 2 centimeters. I am not a tall man, 1.77 cm roughly (or 176.5 cm to be very honest!) and I can almost jump inside her before knocking my head in the ceiling.

Ogopog is built with as a sandwich construction with a core of "divinycell" and epoxy so she’s not built in plywood. I think that it´s totally more than 4.500 hours of hard labour in building her. She’s light and fast. It is a lot of boat...

Thanks for the reply.

I was thinking of doing something similar, regarding raising the decks compared to the plans. Elimination of the coachroofs would clean up the lines of the boat.

I have not been to the boat yet so you have to wait for the interior photos. Yes, a god looking boat gets even nicer when you have higher hulls and no coachroofs. She is built for charter in Thailand but I will try to sell shares in her and take her to the med.

Hi Meinhard,
We have always loved the Tehini. My wife and I looked very closely at this design but we ultimately chose the Tiki 46 as providing more accommodation for the build price. That said, the lines of Tehini, especially with flush decks, are beautiful.... like two giant sharks yoked together.

Yes, I know that my son has a plane to get an young artist, a friend of his, to paint two giant white sharks with open jaws...and I will lift her for a couple of days during may and who knows what vill happen!
