Stainless Brad Nails
Because I do not like extra work when it can be avoided, I am using 304 stainless brad nails to affix the lumber and butt blocks to the backbone. Because they are small and lightweight, I do not need to remove them after the epoxy dries, and the technique is considerably faster than screwing or traditional nailing when working alone.

Hi Budget I see from ya photo that you boys in Texas have adopted the Samoan safety shoe for boat building. In New Zealand some of us use similar foot attire. I have on more than one occasion used my toes to hold things while fastening with my hands.Its a bit of a bugger getting the epoxy out from between ya toes tho The ss brads are a great idea. I like the SS brads. I didn't use any screws just clamped them together in stages took a long time to complete all 4 beams about 1 and a half month.
