This looks worst than my boat when I bought it. I replaced all the beams, cockpit and hatches. I made Tiki I beams and expanded to 17.5' beam and an 8' cockpit.

Henneke suggested that I leave out the middle beam, that the mast was supported on, and mount the mast on the second beam like a Tiki. This would give a bigger cockpit.

Hi Greg!

At the moment I keep the old rigging... only reparing the hulls, hatches and the beams. The boat has 5 sails in good order and it´s ok for sailing to my island.

The middle beam it´s lost. I would like change all the beams for extra size and safe sailing, but I haven´t time at the moment.

I don´t know if change the mast to de second beam. You finally don´t do it and your bout look beautifull wiht the wooden deck under the mast. I don´t ned a bigger cockpit, I preffer the wooden deck but  my pahi 26´sailing better now in sloop and simple. I don´t know the 31´cutter it´s the same.

Another cuestion it´s the two centreboards...you use it?

Regards

I use both center boards when going to windward and real close to the wind. I built the beams in about a month and a half only clamping and gluing. having enough clamps was the limitation, I had 17. I had the boat out of the water for about a month putting new cockpits, beams, deck and rigging in. I like the boat wider seem to sail better.
