A Photo & Discussion Forum for Wharram Design Enthusiasts
Budget Boater is now offering a short-term educational program for anyone who wants to learn how to build a Wharram Catamaran. You will have the opportunity to get hands-on experience and find out what goes into building a Tiki 38. We have one in progress currently, and another to build after.

What's the local gun shop charging for .223? LMAO! Good luck :)
No takers.
No takers? That seems kind of odd. I used to live in Seattle where they have a wooden boat school and people just lined up for that. Same with in Port Townsend. Definatley'd be using that Castle Law with some of those folks, but I'll tell you what they actually paid good money to work on boats owned by or contracted to the school.
hmmm...maybe broader advertising might reach a larger audience? Just a thought :) I hope you get a good apprentice!
OK, so you're in the states? Lots of boats being built where I'm at and there's no one doing anything like this here. And like Tom says, where's the line between learning and earning?

I am not sure what you are talking about, as I never made any references to guns in the OP, and the person who did lives in another county. Of course, being from a European country where guns are highly restricted and people jailed for defending their lives and property with one, I can understand your apprehension. However, here in the Free Republican state of Texas, we are allowed to openly carry our long arms around as we please and legally shoot anyone who threatens our lives and property. Therefore, there is a great chance that you may see several guns while among us Texans. Don't fear the gun, fear the man.
Now, when you get around to opening up your home and business to complete strangers in an effort to help them learn and grow, get back to me. There are all manner of deadbeats and scammers who would love an opportunity to take advantage of a situation. It just won't be from me. Everyone is welcome who has good intentions. If my way of scaring off the deadbeats seems unwelcoming to others, ita sit. But until you know me, nolite iudicare.

No takers? Not a surprise if you're making jokes about what ammo you keep your gun loaded with.
Perhaps a more open and welcoming approach will help you find the right apprentice?
I've gladly worked for no more than my lunch and a few litres of fuel to get useful experience, but would think twice if looking down the wrong end of a barrel!
Or maybe this is a cultural thing and non-US citizens just don't get it?
"Free Republican state of Texas". This .... just scares me.
Bit off topic, but yeah..... scary. Are there any similar programs elsewhere on the planet?
