PIN HOLES IN TIKI 38 FORE BEAM

Hi, I've just bought T38 Kaimiloa, we are preparing her to sail from Portugal to Uruguay and would like to know if anybody else than Bertrand has pics or can post comments about experience with leaks through such holes/pins, as we are working in such an issue.

For what it's worth, I am thinking of trying to make the pin holes oversize, glue in a 2 inch cylinder of UHMWPE that has the pin slot cut into it. Makes sense to me that the pin holes are very vulnerable to wear and rot so this may forestall that problem.

Any T38/46 builders have a comment on the longevity of the pin slots and the propensity to get rot developing in there?
