Washing the topsides has always been a physically demanding occupation with two hulls both 46 feet long and our two elderly bodies reaching and scrubbing with various chemicals and scrub pads, brushes, and sponges.  But now it is easy to do and we suggest you obtain EZ House Wash which is good for painted wooden surfaces.  It was on sale in our local small town hardware store and I got some because Peace IV was really looking scruffy after sitting at the dock all summer in the heat and humidity down south here.

We read the instructions (!) which told us to attach the hose to the bottle with the dial in the off position.  Turn on the water pressure.  Move the dial to the clean position.  At that point a gentle fan like spray of solution was applied to the boat and it was no problem from the dock or from the dinghy.  Then we waited for 10 min per the instructions.  Then turn the dial to the rinse position and a good 15 foot stream of water was easy to direct and it washed off all of the solution and most of the dirt.  We repeated the proceedure and the job was done.  No scrubbing at all.  Nice clean boat.

The instructions claim it is not harmful to gardens around houses so we did not worry about the river water.  We sure did not have to take pain pills for our aching olde bones when we were done with the washing of the boat.  I did not bother to wear gloves because I just hate them and I had no problem because I did not get the stuff on my skin.

This is the stuff!  This is magic!  This is cheap too!

Come see our pretty clean boat and maybe buy it.  Tiki 46 for sale info on my page.
