Thank you for reply. If you build tikiroa i think the plans show daggerboards. There has been so much written on this subject that I am almost afraid to mention it. My own [limited] experience is that my pahi31 goes to windward ok. but not as good as a friend's tiki26. Many have commented that the daggerboards make little or no difference. My own [limited] experience is that my pahi31 goes to windward ok. but not as good as a friend's tiki26. Many have commented that the daggerboards make little or no difference. Certainly as designed they add very little to the grip on the water. However some years ago I built a new board 60 cm longer than standard so that it protrudes most of a meter below the keelline. This was like adding a jet engine. Really it did transform the performance.I do not have to lift the board to tack and I use only the one board regardless of which tack I am on.I do not care about the theory only what is working for me.

I wish you again the best of luck.
Hi.

Hi.

I buy this plans with good price...I stay build a Tiki 30, with 3 friends. We will sale this boat, and I will do one only for me...

I like Tikiroa style...I belive, Tiki 26 and Pahi 26 with wing sail, sailing equal, side by side in up wind.

But what you say about Tiki 21 is really true. Sounds like an excellent idea to me too, I see the draws, too easy.

Good winds

Thank you for the excellent photos.

Also I am intrigued by your offer to swop tiki26 for pahi26 plans. I myself sail a PAHI 31 [20 yrs ]and while I am no expert I have been on both boats and wonder what you hope to achieve by this swop. I note your comment "or other small wharram" which suggesrs that you hope perhaps for a more economical craft [ I may be wrong ? ].

I have built many small craft and the only way [ in my experience ] to build a cheaper craft is to build a smaller one.

TIKI21 is a fine inexpensive craft ,the justly famous "Cookie" has the cabin taken to the stem-head and is a proven tough sea-boat . Also recently there was a post on this forum from a member who intends to stretch this design to approx. 24 ft for economical cutting from 3xsheets of ply, which sounds like an excellent idea to me.

Ultimately our choice of boat depends not only on reason. The building of any boat is a long process. It takes passion and belief to carry the project to a successful conclusion.

I wish you the very best
