Peter,

We have been brainstorming some vacation ideas for late-January to mid-February, when I recalled our conversation last year. I wanted to check in to see where you and Morning Star are these days, and whether you still have any interest in a share or rental arrangement.

Happy Holidays,

Oh, I'm sorry I didn't get your message earlier. I was just in Sarasota last week! We decided against towing the Hei Matau down for a winter trip, as we didn't want to keep the kids out of school for a month again this year, and some other factors made it too expensive. Nonetheless, we needed a little break from winter, so packed up the car and drove down for a week to visit family and spend some time on Cayo Costa.

If you do wind up keeping Morning Star in the Bahamas next winter, we would be interested in joining your share group. We tend to have cruising opportunities each year between mid-December and mid-February, so that could jive well with your schedule. Let me know what your thoughts are on how such a group might work to mutual benefit.

Still hoping for snow,

Thanks! good to hear from you too. I'm free for a bit tomorrow I may try calling you then. I'll definitely check out the Squadron while I'm there. How's Denver right now? I know Nashville is starting to get cold. :(

Hi Stephan,

Sorry we missed you in Burlington...I would love to have put you at the helm of the Hei Matau for some "Wharram time", or at least shared some crepes at the Skinny Pancake. We spent the second half of the summer farther south at the lovely Chipman's Point Marina and had a great time, so we may repeat the process next summer. If so, we would probably do some weekend sailing down there, and take a 3-4 week cruise up to Quebec. Not sure, though, as we have long dreamed of…

Not sure, though, as we have long dreamed of sailing the Maine Island Trail, and given the time/labor involved in setting up and taking down the T26, we might have to choose one or the other.
